How to Prepare an RFQ for Formwork Tie Rods & Related Accessories
Formwork tie rods, template pull rods and related temporary-works accessories can be described differently by suppliers and project documents. A structured RFQ reduces the risk of quoting the wrong rod system or incompatible accessories.
Minimum RFQ Information
Use the project drawing or BOM whenever available.
- Drawing, BOM or project specification
- Rod / tie system name used by the project
- Diameter, length and thread details
- Required material or grade
- Required finish or corrosion requirement
- Matching nut dimensions and quantity
- Connector / coupler details if applicable
- Plate dimensions, thickness and hole details if applicable
- Quantity by item
- Packing and identification requirements
- Inspection, test or documentation requirements
Do Not Quote From Appearance Alone
Similar-looking rods and accessories may not be interchangeable.
